You're doing the right thing by going to your meeting. Do you have a sponsor? Make sure you tell him/her what's going on and how you're feeling. It's important to make sure as many people as possible who support you in recovery know when you're struggling. It is totally normal to feel sad and emotional when disappointments happen - the difference is now you actually go through the feelings rather than try to short circuit them (remember how well that didn't work?). Do something different when you get up tomorrow - if you've been skipping exercise, take a short walk - I'm amazed at how much I clear from my head when I take a walk. If you haven't been taking care of how you look, make a point of taking care of yourself tomorrow - just one day of changing how you act can start to change how you feel! That is an awesome achievement to be sober for 72 days - and I think anyone in recovery would tell you that there are rough patches along the way, but that is is WELL WORTH IT to stay on this road. I remember a sponsor I had early on would always say to me, "So you had some bad things happen. Would alcohol actually change anything?" Well, no, it wouldn't. In fact, it would probably make it worse.

Okay, so I'm a little nervous after reading this. I've had some issues/disappointments the last few days and have been very emotional. and I've noticed this week I've been lethargic and just haven't really cared so much about how I look. Wondering if I'm setting myself up for my first relapse after 72 days? Scaaaaared now. Off to a meeting I'm going tonight. Any other suggestions?

Those are some great suggetions. I logged on here just to check it out.

You'd be a good person to help someone else identify their problems; warning sgns etc, if you dont all ready.

I especially like the part about lying; I teach addiction and recovery and honesty is a huge part of getting and staying clean....;
